Actually got an "this is cool"

My 12 year old normally rolls his eyes when I buy educational stuff. He opened this one and said it was actually cool lol. He likes the comic format and I think it makes the physics easier to understand. He has been reading it on his own.

Son, age 12 Comic format Reads it on his own

Product information

The big ideas of physics, one short comic lesson at a time:

  • Gravity and motion: why things fall, roll and bounce
  • Light and sound: rainbows, shadows, echoes and more
  • Energy and electricity: where power comes from and how it moves
  • Magnets and forces: what pushes, pulls and sticks
  • Waves and vibrations, plus plenty of fun facts along the way

Every topic uses things kids already see at home, so the ideas connect to real life instead of staying on the page.

Made for curious kids around 6-12, no science background needed. Older kids usually read it on their own. Younger ones enjoy it most with a parent reading the harder parts with them.

  • Kids who ask "why?" about everything
  • Visual learners who understand better with pictures
  • Kids who find regular science books boring
  • Homeschool families and screen-free reading time

You don't need to know any physics to help. Every page explains itself, so you can learn right alongside them.

Many families read one page a day at breakfast, in the car or at bedtime. It's quick enough to fit anywhere, and it often turns into a fun conversation about how things work.

How every page works

One page. One minute. One big "aha!"

Every lesson is built the same simple way, so kids know exactly what to expect and want to turn to the next one. No science background needed, for them or for you.

Gravity Electricity Magnets Energy Light Sound
01
They see it

A bright comic panel grabs their attention before a single word. The picture shows the idea, so it makes sense at a glance.

02
They get it

A short explanation in plain, everyday words. No walls of text, no big terms left unexplained. Just one clear idea per page.

03
They spot it at home

Every lesson ties back to real life: the fridge magnet, the bouncing ball, the light switch. Suddenly physics is everywhere they look.

04
They tell you about it

A fun fact sticks, and it comes out at dinner, in the car or at bedtime. That's when you know it really landed.

Good book for curious kids

My daughter is 8 and she loves the comic style. She sat down and started looking through it right away. I like that it teaches real science but doesnt feel like a school book. We have talked about magnets and energy quite a bit since getting it.

For parents and grandparents

The questions you'll finally have answers for

Kids ask the big ones at the most random moments: in the car, at dinner, right before lights out. Here's a taste of how the book answers them. Short, true, and easy enough to repeat.

?Why does everything fall down and not up?
The simple answer

Earth pulls everything toward it with a force called gravity. Bigger things pull harder, and Earth is really, really big. So when you let go of a ball, Earth wins.

?How do magnets stick to the fridge?
The simple answer

Magnets pull on certain metals, like iron. Most fridge doors are made of steel, which has iron in it, so the magnet grabs on and holds tight.

?Why do we see lightning before we hear thunder?
The simple answer

They happen at the same time, but light travels much faster than sound. The flash reaches your eyes almost instantly, and the boom catches up a few seconds later.

?Why is the sky blue?
The simple answer

Sunlight is made of every color mixed together. The air bounces blue light around the sky much more than the other colors, so blue is what we see everywhere we look.

For parents
No more "ask your teacher"

You don't need to remember a thing from school science. Read one page together and you'll both know the answer, usually in about a minute. It turns "I don't know" into a fun two-minute chat.

For grandparents
A gift that keeps you in the conversation

Not another toy headed for the bin by February. It's something to read together on visits, and something they'll call you about when they learn a new fact. A gift with a little of you in it.

In the book, every answer comes with a comic. Kids see the idea happen in pictures, not just read about it, which is why it sticks. The questions above are examples of the topics it covers.

My son really likes this book

Got this for my 9 year old and he actually sat down and read it. He likes the comic style a lot. He's been asking questions about gravity and magnets ever since, which I wasn't expecting lol. Really nice book for kids who are curious about how things work.

Great little science book

Bought this for my nephew who is 10. He loves anything science related and this was right up his alley. The pages are colorful and the explanations aren't too hard for him. He has already gone through it a couple times.

Exactly what I was looking for

I wanted something that introduced physics without making it feel like school. This did the trick. My daughter is 8 and she likes looking at the pictures and reading the little explanations. We've been reading a few pages before bed.

Much better than another toy

Bought this as a birthday gift for my nephew. He has so many toys already and I wanted something different. He started looking through this right away and ended up reading it that night. His favorite part is the magnets.

Really good, shipping was slow

The book itself is great and my son likes it. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is shipping took longer than I expected. It did arrive in good shape though. Once it got here he was happy with it.

She actually wanted to read it

That alone deserves five stars from me lol. My daughter usually avoids anything that looks educational but she likes comics and the pictures got her attention. After that she actually started reading it. She's learned quite a few new things from it.

My daughter keeps picking it up

This has been a nice change from the usual books I buy her. She loves the illustrations and keeps asking me about different things in the book. She's 8 so I help explain a few things, but most of it she gets.

Good for curious kids

My 11 year old is always taking stuff apart and asking how everything works. He really likes this one. The comic format makes it easier for him to stay interested. He especially liked the parts about energy and motion.

Nice book for my grandson

I got this for my grandson and he was excited about it. The book is colorful and easy enough for him to follow. Took a little longer to arrive than I thought it would, but otherwise no issues. He has been reading it a lot.

Good book, package was a little beat up

The book itself is good and my daughter likes it. The package arrived with a little damage on the corner so I took one star off for that and one for the shipping taking longer than expected. Nothing major though and the actual book was fine inside.

My 10 year old loves it

He normally doesn't care much about educational books but he really likes this one. The pictures definitely help. He keeps showing me random pages and telling me what he learned. Pretty happy with it.

Fun and easy to understand

I bought this for my daughter because she's starting to get interested in science. It's easy enough that she can read most of it without help. I like that it doesn't feel like a textbook. The comic illustrations make it fun.

MLMegan L.Colorado · August 23, 2026
Good book, took a while to get here

My grandson really enjoys this book. I would have given 5 stars if the shipping had been a little quicker. It took longer than I expected but once it arrived everything was fine. The book is exactly what I was hoping for.

A hit with my science kid

My son is 9 and is constantly asking questions about electricity, magnets and why things move. He loves looking through this. It's nice having something he can read on his own instead of needing a tablet every time he's curious about something.

Great birthday gift

Got this for my niece and she loved it. She's really into comics so the style was perfect for her. Her mom said she's been reading it at breakfast and after school. Definitely a fun gift for a kid who likes science.

Shipping could have been better

The book is nice and my son likes it. My only complaint was the shipping. It took quite a bit longer than I thought it would and the outside packaging was bent up. Luckily the book itself wasn't damaged. Would probably order again though.

ARAmanda R.Missouri · August 8, 2026
Simple but actually interesting

I got this for my 12 year old and ended up reading some of it myself. It's pretty simple but that's what makes it work for kids. He likes the pictures and the short sections. Good introduction to physics.

TGTyler G.Oregon · August 4, 2026
My kids enjoy it

Both of my kids have been looking through this. My younger one mostly likes the pictures and my older one reads the explanations. Only giving 4 because the delivery took a few extra days, but the book arrived in good condition.

SFSarah F.New York · July 31, 2026
Worth adding to the bookshelf

My son is really into building things and figuring out how stuff works. This was a good choice for him. He likes the energy and motion sections and keeps going back to them. Nice way to get kids interested in science.

ENEric N.Minnesota · July 27, 2026
Good kids book overall

Bought this for my grandson who is 10. He likes it and has read through most of it already. The book arrived a couple days later than the original estimate, which was a little annoying, but no problems with the book itself. Good purchase overall.
